The first time we visited this semi-detached house in the town of Chilches, we were aware of its potential. It was a new-build home spread over four floors (basement, ground floor, upper floor and rooftop), with a private garden and several outdoor spaces that invited you to enjoy the Malaga climate.

The clients, a family who had bought the house as a second home to spend their holidays near the coast, were looking for a beach style for the decoration, but we encouraged them to go one step further and combine that beach atmosphere with a contemporary touch. They loved the proposal, so we began the project with the enthusiasm that characterizes us, combining blue and ochre tones on a neutral and timeless base to obtain a totally WOW result. This chromatic range, together with the warmth of the oak wood, the magic of the wallpaper and the white and blue-green lacquers, transformed the house into a home with a lot of personality, fresh and welcoming. In the original layout, on the lowest floor of the house there was an open-plan basement of 63 square meters, but taking into account that the house would accommodate a large number of people, we needed to create functional spaces, so we decided to divide it into five rooms: a reception area as a welcome area, a storage room, a cinema room to enjoy time with the family, a guest bedroom and a home office for study or teleworking times.

As for the interior design, we gave all the spaces the same style to achieve harmony. We custom-designed much of the furniture in the studio, although we also selected pieces from Kave Home or Mobenia throughout the house. Special mention should be made of the paintings by Marta Ankersmith, which with their blue tones and marine inspiration helped us to decorate the walls of the house with a unique charm.

On the ground floor there is the kitchen, the living-dining room, a guest bedroom with a breathtaking blue mural, two porches (front and back) and the garden. Here, the main objective was to gain warmth, since the starting materials and colours were very cold, something common in new-build houses. Once again, we relied on blues and ochres, accompanied by white and oak furniture, although as you can see in the images, we also relied on plants to reinforce the freshness of the interior design. Have you seen the bookshelf next to the TV cabinet, as a reading corner with a blue armchair? We think it's ideal! Another decorative tip for this area of the house is the wallpaper that imitates stone, a low-cost resource with which we adapt to the budget and manage to reinforce visual attention.

Going up to the upper floor there are three bedrooms (master, children's and guest). To distinguish them without breaking the harmony of the project, we decided to give each one a different aesthetic, largely through the use of wallpaper (like the mural in the girl's room), but also through the carpentry. In the master bedroom, the light blue paneling is the absolute protagonist.
In fact, we not only placed it on the wall behind the headboard, but also on the column in front of the bed. In addition, to take advantage of that space between the column and the wall, we installed some wooden shelves that allowed us to create a very attractive visible storage space, with plants and baskets.

Finally, on the terrace or rooftop (the buzzword par excellence) we wanted to create several areas, taking advantage of the 63 square meters: one with hammocks and an outdoor shower with lots of vegetation to add freshness, another dining area, and a relaxation area where you can contemplate the sunsets over the sea. Yes, we know, the views are spectacular, and they inspired us to choose the textiles, such as those blue striped cushions that fill the sofa with style and comfort.

With this project, we have made our clients' dream come true: to have a second residence on the beach equipped with everything necessary for a family holiday, and with an aesthetic that conveys the relaxation so characteristic of the beach style, but which is also contemporary and therefore persists throughout the seasons.
